Up and coming sneaker brand Heyday presents their latest model, the Shift Hi. It features a chocolate upper composed of Italian calfskin and calf suede. Heyday is definitely on the rise and has even been seen being sold on such online retailers like Pickyourshoes and Karmaloop. This Shift Hi is scheduled to be released this July so keep your eyes peeled.
Here’s a sneak peak at what Supra has in store for the upcoming Holiday 2008 season. The new collection consists of the Skytop, Suprano High, Vaider, Skylow, Cali. Each features great color choices and a variety of materials seen though out the styles. Recently released by Adidas, the “Flavors of the World” ZX800 is one of their more unique idea’s, the left and right shoes are featured in different colors, but compliment each other nicely. The right shoe is featured in red while the left shoe is dressed in blue. Furthermore, the shoes come packaged in a special box that have separated sections for the left and right shoe. Available now at Overkill.
Alife and Barneys are teaming up once again to present a new package consisting of the Everybody High Premium, Chaser Premium and Kennedy High. The Everybody High features crinkle patent, full grain woven leather and a black, natural and red color-way. The Chaser Premium sports nubuck, full grain leather and woven leather, and is made up the same black, natural, and red color-way. Lastly, the Kennedy High is composed of full grain tumbled leather and woven leather and the same color-way as the last two models. Available now at Barneys stores in the U.S and online.
Converse has released a new collection of Chuck Taylor All-Stars as part of their 100th anniversary re-visitation of some of the brands most prolific models of the past. Some of the models are not exact representations but rather homages to their earlier predecessors. The models include the Gachapin (1989 Conasaur Collection), Glam (1984 Fashion All Stars), Zebra In Dark (1987 Glow in the Dark) and the All Star SB (1991 Canvas All Star Specialty Collection). All the All Stars seen here will release in July.

Rumors of a Jordan Brand skate shoe have come to fruition in the form of the upcoming Flipsyde. The creation of an official skate model marks an ironic return for the Jordan legacy as the same sneakers worn by his Airness would often make their way onto the feet of skaters in the 80s. As soon as I see the word ‘vote’ I almost always associate it with a design competition, but in this case you’re ‘just’ voting for what designs Pretty Hammer will be printing for their latest collection. I guess its a good way for them to separate the wheat from the chaff, and help to build some interest around new designs as well. So go on over, check out the designs and get some voting done, and don’t be polite about it, if you don’t like a design, vote that way, there’s no point in being nice if Pretty Hammer end up with a big pile of tees that people don’t really like.Pretty Hammer New Collection Voting

Look into the definition of the word “classic”, you are bound to find other word associations such as “standard”, “tradition”, “established”, or “timeless”. It is generally something that’s been tried and tested. Something where its validity won out against time, trends, and critics. More importantly, it is not something that needs alteration or improvement. However, a product’s standing as a “classic” gives designers at Nike all the more reason to modify it. Again, it is that never ending quest to exceed the demands put on each Nike’s products. A motivation that has resulted in exciting hybrids like Air Max 90/360 and Air Jordan Fusion. The debut collection of Nike Sportswear (NSW) encapsulated the same motivation. After all, as the company puts it, “why reissue when you can re-master?”.

As a continuation of the popular Materials of the World series and coincide with the ongoing Flavors of the World (FOTW) series. adidas Orignals created the Sounds of the City (SOTC) collection, a series of classic sneakers and coordinating apparels with design cues centered on the musical vibes that have shaped pulses of metropolitans around the globe. The first being the Motown Records Pack, which honored the legendary rhythms and blues pioneer created by Detroit native Barry Gordy. The next to be launch is the Alligator Records Pack. Founded by Bruce Iglauer, then as a simple shipping clerk at the legendary blues/jazz record company, Delmark Records (which many consider to be the oldest independent blues/jazz record label in the US). When his boss and founder of Delmark, Bob Koester, refused to produce Iglauer’s new favorite, the blues band Hound Dog Taylor & the HouseRockers, Iglauer decided to strike out on his own. With his life savings, he launched Alligator Records in Chicago, named after his habit of “clicking” his teeth together while listening to a jam session. Since its establishment in 1971, Alligator Records amassed a catalog of over 200 records and worked with iconic artists such as the “Queen of the Blues”, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Mack, Luther Allison, and more…
For the Sounds of the City - Alligator Records Pack, the design team at adidas Originals created a nylon track jacket, with a large Alligator Records’ logo, a smiling gator, embroidered on the rear. A cotton bowling shirt with caramel brown, the company’s color, pipings and a caramel brown t-shirt, again with the “smiling gator”, in antiqued print. But the centerpiece of the collection is the sneaker, a adidas Originals Superstar 1, with a white forefoot upper and brown rear upper in embossed croc skin pattern. This limited collection is currently available at adidas Originals boutiques and selected retailers worldwide, including Overkill of Berlin.
