Sorry to post the same store twice in a row, but I thought it was about damn time that I got back to my roots and posted a hoodie for a change. The weather plays a big factor in my enthusiasm for posting hoodies, and when I’m liberally applying sun screen on my neck in a morning before going out to work I don’t feel particularly inclined to hide my arms, so I don’t feel particularly inclined to write about hoodies, but there’s something about Linty Fresh’s designs that makes me want to post them no matter what they’re printed on, hell, I even want to write about the belts!

Lipstick Prophets are running a 50% and more off sale, but not on everything, just on the items that have naughty words on them. So, if you like telling people who’re walking behind you to ‘fuck off’, and wearing black, then your time is now, my friend. There’s no word on how long this sale will last, other than the notoriously vague phrase of ‘not long’.Lipstick Prophets Naughty Section

I was in Manchester at the weekend for a fancy dress party (I went as Stalin, but got called anything from Private Pyle to ‘that guy from My Name Is Earl‘), and, as promised, I made a trip to Footlocker to check out the first in what is intended to be a multi-part series of collaborations between Kozyndan and Puma. I was actually pretty surprised to find the hoodie in this particular Footlocker since it seemed to be filled with chavs buying weak streetwear but I did find the grey hoodie tucked away in a quiet back corner of the store. I was also surprised that the price had already been knocked down from £54.99 to £34.99, I don’t know how old the design is, but considering that Kozyndan themselves were surprised to see the hoodie a week ago then I’d presume that it’s fairly new.
The design is typical Kozyndan, based upon a panorama that they have created specifically for the series (the related image is on a removable tag inside the hoodie), its not quite as colourful as their print work, naturally, but there are quite a few little dashes of colour around the hoodie that do make the grey-on-grey colourway look a bit more exciting. It feels like a quality garment, pretty much what you’d expect from a large brand like Puma, and whilst I didn’t drop the cash on it myself, I was mighty tempted. The hoodie can be found at most Footlocker locations in Europe.

As skateboarding becomes more popular worldwide, more shoe companies are trying their luck at producing their own line-up of skateboarding shoes, and Adidas is one of the bigger names that is trying it out. Here we feature a preview of what Adidas has in store for this upcoming Fall, in terms of Skateboarding shoes. Here we feature the Adidas Roster Mid and Adidas Doley Lace, which were both designed by Mark Gonzales. Adidas also plans on releasing several different t-shirts and hoodies for the Fall which will also feature artwork from Gonzales, and will all be part of their collection. via HS.

I’m always curious about Japanese writing on clothing, curious because we all know it can look pretty cool, but also pretty scared, scared because I cannot read kanji (right? its been a while since I even looked at my ‘learn japanese’ book) and wouldn’t want to wear something where the text might be something crazy like ‘Super Homosexual‘ and I’d have no idea. Even though Super Superficial say that the text reads “Spring chanson show by new singers” I get the feeling that it might say “this guy has no idea what this design says”.
Obviously, its a pretty simple design, but I do like the baby blue/white/black colourway.

Kozyndan (whose work adorns my wall and is therefore good) have done a mini line of t-shirts and sweatshirts for Puma that are being sold exclusively at Footlocker Europe. The work that the artists link to on the Flickr page for this photo doesn’t exactly look like classic Kozyndan, but the hoodie in the picture (taken in the Amsterdam branch of Footlocker) looks a lot more like their usual detailed panoramas. In fact, each season of the series is based upon a panoramic image created especially for the collaboration. The nearest Footlocker to me is in Manchester, and I happen to be heading there in about a week so if I get the chance I’ll pop in and take a look at the range, presuming they stock it, although I can make no promises as the only reason I’m going to Manchester is for a ‘Red or Dead’ party (I’m achieving both parts by going as Stalin) and may well not be in the mood for shopping the day after, if you catch my drift.

As soon as I see the word ‘vote’ I almost always associate it with a design competition, but in this case you’re ‘just’ voting for what designs Pretty Hammer will be printing for their latest collection. I guess its a good way for them to separate the wheat from the chaff, and help to build some interest around new designs as well. So go on over, check out the designs and get some voting done, and don’t be polite about it, if you don’t like a design, vote that way, there’s no point in being nice if Pretty Hammer end up with a big pile of tees that people don’t really like.Pretty Hammer New Collection Voting

I was sure that I’d already written about this, but looking back through the archives it would appear that isn’t the case. I don’t really know what the image is all about, but its seems very wearable in that “its not amazing but it clearly doesn’t suck” kind of way. Considering that Susie Ghahremani (whose surname I still have to copy/paste) is a fairly well-recognised artist, the price point on this hoodie is well below arty expectations.
