K-Swiss x atmos - Classic LX Hi - Black
As NYC’s Harlem neighborhood undergoes another Renaissance in the recent years. Athletics footwear label K-Swiss is paying tribute to the original Harlem Renaissance that took place in 1920s. Together with Japanese retailer atmos, its flagships in both Harajuku & Harlem. K-Swiss is scheduled to pre-launch 6 models that infused the cultural identities unique to Harlem, the continuing influences the Harlem Renaissance had on literature, poetry, and not least of them all, jazz.
To keep within the K-Swiss’ tradition of streamlined aesthetics, most of these cultural incorporation will not be visible at first glance. Instead, a subtle approach was applied, allowing this special collection to tell a story without alteration to its classic silhouette.
The collection preview will take place on September 27th at atmos Tokyo, with subsequent releases across the globe throughout the Fall season.

Summer is drawing to a close and footwear companies are getting ready to close out the year by toning down a bit and releasing more Fall and Winter friendly colorways. On October 1st, Lakai Limited will release the “Black Pack”. It features three of Lakai’s most popular Signature Models - The Carroll, Koston, and Howard Selects. Each sneaker will feature a multitude of premium materials, including high quality oiled and embossed leathers, cool grey out soles, and waxed cotton laces to top it all off. The “Black Pack” will be a huge upgrade from the standard suede/nubuck combo that has, unfortunately, become somewhat of a cliche in today’s skateboarding footwear.

As NYC get ready for the highly anticipated opening of the capsule store by Colette and GAP. Sarah of Colette unveiled another surprise release on the recently created Colette Guest Blog. A preliminary sketch of a special CONVERSE Chuck Taylor, in support of the ongoing CONVERSE (RED) project. Featuring an all black design with a yellow stripe construction tape pattern running across it. Coming in mid-September with only 200 units produced, the special CONVERSE (RED) Chuck Taylor will be available at the Colette x GAP store in New York and the newly renovated Colette in Paris.

Just like month we reported the All American Classic Air Jordan XX3 (23), special make-ups of the XX3 created for the Jordan Brand All American games in April. Player exclusive models were 10 pairs were issue to the participants in the games. With the teams separated in two teams, red and blue, with the model above issue to Devin Ebanks a.k.a Desert Eagle of the red square. The XX3 is made up of white, black and varsity team red, not to forget the “Desert Eagle” stitching around the ankle. Via OS Sneaker.

At first glance, these Air Jordan True Flights look like the classic Air Jordan VII, but they a mere variations of the sneaker that we just can’t get enough of. Scheduled to release in three different color-ways starting next year, featured are color combinations that resemble past Air Jordan VII model.s The True Flight will be available in white/red, white/blue, and red/black. Originated in 1988 for the US market only, the New Balance M576 quickly gained popularity with it was finally released in the European market. The simplicity in appearance hid its subtle built and composition, including one of New Balance most effective cushioning technology at the time, the C-CAP.
For its 20th anniversary, New Balance created a limited amount of special M576. Manufactured in the legendary factory at Flimby, UK. The premium black and brown leather is hand-picked from a collection of European hides. Each is then sewn in layers on to the mold, with additional applications of dark brown suede and accent stitching in bronze. It is the perfect coordinating piece for upcoming Fall season. Nike has always had a strong connection to Chinese culture and continues to demonstrate the ties with the Mid-Autumn Festival Pack. The pack is modeled after the Mid-Autumn Festival, an important event in Chinese culture.
The pack consists of a trio of sneakers, the Terminator, Blazer and Air Max 1. Each model is composed of a dark red and gold color-way alongside extensive details including laser etched designs featuring the rabbit/hare, a significant icon in Chinese history. Scottie Pippen once ruled the courts with the help of Michael Jordan and an all-star supporting cast, Nike brings back even more styles of the Nike Air Pippen with the addition of the tar/sunset/light taupe/white to the line-up.
Aesthetically, the sneakers have an overall dark vibe which is attributed to the lack of bright colors seen on the past models. However, this aspect of the sneaker isn’t a bad thing, the color-way comes just in time for the upcoming seasons and are always in style on the courts. Following the classic black/red/white Air Pippen model seen earlier in the year, we hope for even more mock-ups as they do bring back some great memories of the Bulls’ championship streak. The Freestyle High has slowly become a popular Reebok model among female sneakerheads, this has been demonstrated through several collaborations including Married to the Mob and Milkfed. We get a look yet another Freestyle High which is composed of denim complimented by a metallic silver logo stripe and orange accents. Over the years Japanese sneaker brand Madfoot! has developed a reputation of releasing styles that strongly resemble popular models from other sneaker companies. The latest release follows the trend and appears in a Vans SK8-Hi like silhouette along with a black leather upper, white stripe and a barbwire design on the mid-sole.
