Peacocking the Modern World

Here’s a look at another vintage themed Nike Air Force III designed exclusively for the House of Hoops. Earlier in the day, an old school Denver Nuggets model was displayed, but this Air Force III uses the Charlotte Hornets as inspiration. The Air Force IIIs come equipped with the team’s white, purple and blue colors as well as a pinstripe design throughout the sneakers. Like the previous model, the Air Force III is made up of mostly white with purple and blue appearing on the swoosh, tongue, pinstripes, sole and other areas. You can find the Charlotte Hornets model exclusively at the House of Hoops and lowtex.

Marking the 5th year of Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, a collaborative project between Nike and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Oregon which honors special Doernbecher patients who overcame great medical challenges. Each honoree, with assistances from the Nike creative teams and head designer Mark Smith, gets to create his or hers sneaker that convey their expressions on their lives, experiences and goals.

First of the collection is the tropical theme design by 16 year old Tony Taylor Jr.  Hailed from Grant High School at Portland, Oregon, Taylor was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, an aliment of the kidney, and subsequently overcame the disease with kidney transplant.  Highly sought after Air Jordan 1 Retro by Taylor composed of an all-patent leather construction in gradient aqua marine color scheme, detailed with laser-etched palm tree silhouettes. Imprinted on the heel panel are numerals “15″ for Taylor’s age at the time, and “4407″, his new “birthday”.  On the tongue, the is a customized graphic of caricature Mr. Booper, Tylor’s alter ego.  The very limited Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 5 - Air Jordan 1 Retro by Tony Taylor Jr.is now available at NikeStore.com.

The DXC will be making its first stop ever in the city of Phoenix, Arizona.  The DXC will take place on Nov 15th from 1pm to 5pm at club Silver in downtown Phoenix.  The DXC will be an all age event and will have a cover of $10 at the door.

Sneaker files Mod, Flipjays and Ric aka Chitownair are having a sneaker event tomorrow @ The Hampton Inn & Suites in Skokie, IL. The event is a buy sell or trade show with sneak peeks at Exclusive P.E’s as well as rare previews of older sneakers.

It has been quite some time since the Denver Nuggets sported the white and rainbow jerseys. However, Nike resurrects the look on this Air Force III releasing at House of Hoops locations. The Air Force IIIs feature a white base complimented by various colors including orange, red, yellow, blue and a rainbow design at the heel. It may be a little much for some, but a nice addition for nostalgic Nuggets fan. The Denver Nuggets Air Force III is now available at the House of Hoops, but can also be found at lowtex.

Back in February the womens Reebok Freestyle World Tour Collection was previewed showcasing six models representing Tokyo, Paris, New Delhi, Madrid, London and NYC. The New York City Edition is scheduled to be released this month. The New York City Edition Freestyle High consists of a taxi motif made up of a yellow and black upper with checkerboard accents and writing all over. Check with your local Reebok retailer for this model as it has dropped at BNYCOnline.

Supra has had major success with their Muska Skytops and look to find even more success with their Suprano High  Jim Greco Pro Model. This Jim Greco Edition Suprano High is dressed in a chrome polka dot design all over over the sneakers. Other highlights include a black leather strap and black inner lining. The Supranos are finished off with detailing on the in-sole. Performance wise, the Supranos feature a comfortable polyurethane insole providing extra heel protection. Furthermore, a full length midsole with SuperFoam is additional support. The Jim Greco Suprano High has dropped at Overkill and is now available.

This weekend will be the launch of Nike Court Force High Lux, the first of a new premium line from Nike Sportswear with orients on elements of luxury.  Based on the Court Force High, first seen on basketball courts across U.S. in 1987.  The new Court Force High Lux is an entirely different sneaker in composition, with supple nubuck leather upper, a premium leather lining, all without the need to “break-in” by the wearer.  Available is simple coloways of deep gray and black, with subtle details such as embroidered “Lux” label and stamped eyelets.  On sale this weekend at Nike Sportswear Flagship Locations at 21 Mercer Street in New York, 6-14-5 Jingumae at Harajuku, Tokyo and selected retailers worldwide.  Expect more special producs to come in the near future for the Nike Lux collection.

Despite seeing Chris Paul wearing various Air Jordan Player Exclusive models, we get a preview of Paul’s upcoming CP3 II. This CP3 II will debut next March featuring a traditional New Orleans Hornets look made up of white, black and energy.  The CP3 II features a white upper with black patent leather and hints of energy seen throughout the sneaker. The CP3 II has been scheduled to be released on March 5th, 2009 retailing at $118. Via realhoop.

To complete the set of three player exclusives that will release at the House of Hoops in Chicago tomorrow, Nike will be dropping Drew Gooden’s Nike Air Power Max PE’s. Though the Air Power Max is not as popular as the Nike Hyperdunk Supreme, it is certainly on the same level as it in reference to performance and style. Drew Gooden has been spotted wearing this exact colorway on the courts due to these player exclusives being made in the same colorway as the Chicago Bulls’ home jerseys. This pair features a red upper accented nicely by its white midsole, sidepanels, and laces. Coming equipped with Nike’s patented Air Max bubbles in the sole, this pair surely combines great looks with even better performance. Drew Gooden’s Nike Air Power Max PE will be available tomorrow, November 14th 2008, at the House of Hoops in Chicago. Via Footlocker.
