In his second NBA season, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Superstar forward Kevin Durant is scheduled to get his own signature shoe. Unfortunately all we have to show you is a picture of the shoe in its early design stages. Still, you can get a sense of what they are supposed to look like. They sport a leather construction with a kd logo on the ankle area. The inner lining sports a gradient design which fades from yellow to blue, through shades of orange, red and purple. They are scheduled to release in January 2009, so we’ll definitely keep you posted. Via Kenlu.

Throughout Nike’s 36-year history, innovation has always been at the forefront of the company’s design ethos. Bringing together heritage and the most advanced design and technical innovations available in the recently launched Nike Sportswear collection, Nike introduces its latest design – the Nike Court Force High Lux. This is the first time the “Lux” properties have been seen on a shoe from Nike and moving forward, “Lux” will be injected into different facets of Nike’s premium design. With four to five Lux models released each year, styles will consist of Nike classics and new innovations.

Lux concept models are recognizable by distinct characteristics: a basic and wearable color palette built with premium materials. As all Nike products are made with superb quality, Lux products are built with meticulous and detailed craftsmanship. Nike designers chose a supple premium nubuck upper and a glove-like leather lining that requires no break-in. These will only get better with age. Each of the two Nike Court Force Lux styles offered is comprised of two colors only – one Grey, the other Black with a simple Sail colored outsole. The passion is in the details and nuance. In order to designate these as truly special we focused on a couple of key callouts: a small woven "Lux" label on the heel and a single Sail (colored) eyelet stamped with a "Lux" callout.

The original Nike Court Force High was launched in 1987 and is a known cousin to the legendary Nike Air Force 1. Constructed of soft full-grain leather, the shoe has a rubber cupsole with Center-of-Pressure and concentric circle design in the ball area, it also is detailed with anatomical flex grooves. Additionally, the Nike Court Force High is extremely lightweight with excellent ankle padding for court performance. The forefoot straps and molded counter provide support throughout the shoe. Although the Nike Court Force started its journey in the late eighties as a silent companion to Nike’s earlier basketball shoes, it has in recent years, been continuously updated in low and high versions with a variety of colors and materials and are a favorite for designers and customizers everywhere. Now we hit the ultimate level of craftsmanship with the Nike Court Force Lux.

The Nike Court Force Lux will be available at the Nike Sportswear store at 21 Mercer Street in New York City and 6-14-5, Jingu-mae, Shibuya-ku in Tokyo, Japan, as well as select Nike Sportswear retailers.
