Nike Mid-Autumn Festival Pack - Terminator

Friday, September 5, 2008

Nike has a new Pack to celebrate the middle of autumn. This Pack has been influenced by the recent Beijing Olympics 2008. There are one Terminator, one Air Max One and a Blazer in this Pack. We are going to look at the Terminator in detail in this post. This Pack will be released soon but the date has not been fixed yet.

The Terminator has a gold colorway with accents in red and white. Gold and red are supposed to be lucky colors for the Chinese people. The toe box is gold with small perforations. The toe box is made of shiny gold leather. The holes are arranged very neatly in rows. The mudguard is red and so is the frame for the shoe lace holes. The red laces look nice against this frame. The tongue is gold colored, with a white label at the tip.

The midsection is beige/gold colored. There is a background print on this section. It looks like big floral prints in the background. The red Nike Swoosh travels back to the heel where it is held by a small tag. The ankle panel at the backtab is made of red suede. The base of the heel has a gold/beige segment with “Nike” in big print outlined by red embroidery. It is a nice shoe if you are a fan of gold and red colors.

Nike Dunk High Premium - Osaka (Japan City Attack Pack)

Friday, September 5, 2008

As a part of the Nike Japan “City Attack” Dunk pack, Nike created four different Dunk’s inspired by four different cities in Japan including Osaka, Fukoaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. While Fukoaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo have all had their cities Dunk release Osaka was the last one on the list and now you can cross them off as well as this past week marked the release of the fourth and final Nike Japan “City Attack” Dunk pack shoe. Osaka’s Dunk was inspired by the city’s food and the shoe is also known as the Doutonbori Dunk. The Dunk High comes in a special wooden box and uses unlikely materials such as what appears to be seersucker. Move quickly as these are selling out even on resell sites. via Skit

NEWS: Converse Jams Skidgrip Mid

Thursday, September 4, 2008

The Jams Skidgrip Mid were Converse’ stab at the skate market back in the 80s, the upcoming re-release maintains the same low-profile and low-tech, but certainly doesn’t go low on colour. Dayglo, nu rave, clown shoes etc whatever people want to say, we’re just sure as hell that there aren’t any shortages of plain coloured slim-profile kicks lately, so in our books these are a very welcome release.

Velcro Panel Custom Dunks

Thursday, September 4, 2008

A young artist with the handle Crunchy Soups showed off these custom Dunks at the forum linked here. The designer is preparing these Velcro paneled Dunks for a recycled art show later in the year. Crunchy Soups shows that an old pair of Dunks, recycled materials and some ingenuity are the best ingredients for custom sneakers.

The designer used recycled materials for each section including plaid, distressed red leather and pink fabric with the word “San Fran” in black lettering. She notes in her post that these shoes will have Velcro panels to help the wearer add colorful cloth and other elements with ease.

While the idea of sticking fabric on a Velcro shoe may not sound appealing, Crunchy Soup is exposing the limitations of sneaker design. She admits that her custom Dunks are incomplete but they already show a new frontier for custom artists. This frontier allows artists and their customers the chance to figure out new designs without worrying about messy paint and expensive fabrics.

Reebok Omni Pump Olympics “Yao Ming”

Reebok Omni Pump Olympics Yao Ming

In the last few months, perhaps the most talked about athlete in the world has been Yao Ming. With China being home to the 2008 Olympic Games, Yao was arguably China’s most recognizable athlete. Although he wasn’t able to lead the Chinese basketball team to the podium to take home a medal, Yao played well during the Olympics.

To help celebrate Yao and the Olympics, Reebok is releasing these new kicks. The Reebok Omni Pump Olympics “Yao Ming” shoes are unmistakable in their Chinese theme. You can see the traditional Chinese dragon and Reebok also uses red and gold throughout the shoe – two of the most popular colors in Chinese design. If you want to pick up a pair of these Reeboks, get them at Undftd. Via High Snobiety.
